We discuss Bessemer Alabama Amazon warehouse workers making a final push toward unionizing, Jeff Bezo’s business blueprint that is sorting our country into “winner-take-all” and “left-behind” places, some thoughts of unions, capitalism, and a little Karl Marx for good measure too. Hoss brings to the conversation a few decades of competing with the Amazon model in book sales and distribution and a rich family history of working in union shops.

Greg and Pat welcome retired newspaper editor and journalist Jim Painter to discuss "The Media," including broadcasting, publishing, and the internet. Jim made a career in newsrooms as a reporter, photographer, opinion column writer, and newspaper editor. Jim is also the author of The Black March, a novel of World War II, based on his father's experience, as a crewman in the Eighth Air Force, flying B-17s.
